Chief Master Sergeant Latoya M. White

Chief Master Sgt. Latoya M. White is the Senior Enlisted Leader for the 192nd Medical Group, 192nd Wing, Virginia Air National Guard, at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia.  She is the lead enlisted medical advisor to the 192nd Wing members and leadership on all medical matters and programs. As the Health Systems Specialist Manager, her responsibilities include management of health services, medical readiness planning and operations, human resource management, medical staffing, and informing the leadership of all issues affecting the medical readiness of nearly 1,200 Airmen.

Chief White began her active-duty Air Force career in September 2000. After graduating Basic Military Training, she was assigned to the 1st Medical Group at JBLE, Virginia, for five years as a Radiology Technician. She had a permanent change of station to Hanscom Air Force Base in December 2007. In December 2008, she separated from active duty and palace chased into the Virginia ANG as a drill-status guardsman. After transitioning into the 192nd Medical Group, she cross-trained to Health Services Management in October 2010. As a DSG, she pursued and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management from Liberty University in 2014. During that time, she volunteered her extra time to the 192nd MDG revamping medical processes and programs in preparation for a Medical Health Service Inspection, ultimately leading to passing with no discrepancies identified.

In January 2011, Chief White was hired as a full-time Health Technician with the 192nd MDG. Excelling as a Health Technician, she then became the Health Systems Specialist Supervisor in January 2014. In July 2017, while deployed to Tangipahoa, Louisiana, for Louisiana Care, Chief White served as the lead Health Service Technician in a joint force mission providing much needed medical, dental, and vision care to the local community alongside local health providers and municipal authorities. In June 2022, she was selected to fill the Administration Senior Enlisted Leader during Innovative Readiness Training Exercise Tropic Care 2022 where she was instrumental in planning and executing a multi-service medical mission while maintaining good order and moral amongst a 257 joint task force and the host community in an austere environment with limited resources. As the Health Systems Specialist Manager, Chief White initiated a process improvement program to reduce the backlog of medical waivers, PHAs, and duty limiting conditions which increased the Wing’s overall medical readiness by eleven percent, ranking them in the top ten percent of ninety-two ANG units. The endurance Chief White has developed in maneuvering the often highly charged command environment with tact and courage has helped ensure the 192nd Medical Group, and thus the Wing and State, have consistently achieved the highest possible levels of performance. Prior to her current position she served as the Medical Administration Superintendent, 192nd Medical Group, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia.
