Chief Master Sgt. Jasen E. Hendricksen is the Command Chief for the 192nd Wing, Virginia Air National Guard, at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. He is responsible for advising the 192nd Wing Commander on all matters related to the enlisted force. He also manages wing professional development and readiness while providing mentorship, leadership and guidance, ensuring a cohesive integration of functions and resources across a diverse and multifunctional mission set to include intelligence, cyber operations, fighter operations, aircraft maintenance and various mission support functions.
Chief Hendricksen enlisted in the U.S. Army in March 1988. He graduated infantry and airborne training in October 1988 followed by sniper training in April 1989. His first assignment was with the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he participated in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. After a four-year career in the U.S. Army, he separated honorably from the military. In 2004, he joined the 192nd Wing as an aircraft ordinance systems mechanic supporting the F-16 aircraft based in Sandston, Virginia. He transitioned to JBLE as part of the first certified 192nd Fighter Wing weapons load crews on the F-22 Raptor aircraft in January 2006.
Chief Hendricksen has volunteered for many stateside and overseas deployments during his tenure with the 192nd Wing, such as the first-ever F-22 deployment to Kadena Air Base, Japan, and several Red Flag and Combat Archer exercises. While assigned to a back shop within the 192nd Maintenance Squadron, he became one of the few Virginia Guardsmen afforded the opportunity to work on Langley’s F-15s before they were transferred from the installation. Prior to his current position, he served as the Senior Enlisted leader for 192nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and 192nd Maintenance Group, JBLE, Virginia.
Before his distinguished military career, Chief Hendricksen forged a strong leadership foundation through a uniquely diverse set of civilian experiences. His journey in the private sector saw him rise to general manager for a major hotel brand, where he mastered the intricacies of operational oversight and premier customer service. He further honed his management skills in fast-paced retail environments and in the logistics-intensive transportation industry. His time with the Department of Corrections provided invaluable experience in crisis management and leading under pressure, while his venture as a small business owner gave him a comprehensive, top-to-bottom perspective on organizational leadership. This powerful combination of corporate, public service and entrepreneurial experience, when paired with his extensive military service, has made him a true subject matter expert in leadership, people management, resource allocation and customer service.
