COLONEL BRIAN L. PRESTON

Colonel Brian L. Preston Is the Commander of the 192nd Medical Group, 192nd Fighter Wing, Virginia Air National Guard, Langley AFB VA. He is also responsible for the Air Force Medical element of the Virginia CBRNE Enhanced Response Force Package (CERFP).

Colonel Preston joined the United States Marine Corps in 1978 and served four years active duty as an enlisted munitions specialist. He first joined the Air National Guard in 1983, assigned to the 180th Fighter Wing in Toledo Ohio. He served six years as an enlisted aviation munitions specialist supporting A7s and then F16 fighters.

Colonel Preston earned his commission through the Army National Guard, Officer Candidate School in 1993. He was commissioned as a combat MP Officer and served as a Platoon Leader with the 1776th Military Police Company in Detroit Michigan. He was selected as a Medical Services Corps Officer with the 180th Medical Squadron in 1995. He spent the next 10 years serving in a variety of positions including Medical Readiness Officer, Mobility Officer, Senior Administrator, and Vice-Commander.

As a civilian, Colonel Preston is a performance improvement consultant, specialized in healthcare organizations. He has lead more than 400 improvement projects over the past 20 years.
