CHIEF MASTER SGT. DAVID L. WILLIAMS

Chief Master Sergeant David Williams is the Superintendent of the Communications Logistics Support Element of the 192d Fighter Wing, Virginia Air National Guard. Chief Williams is the advocate for morale, welfare, quality-of-life, and development of Airmen, NCOs, and SNCOs into enlisted leaders.
 
Chief Williams grew up in Richmond, Virginia. He started his military career in the United States Navy assigned to the USS Guadalcanal LPH-7 based out of the Norfolk Navy Base. While in the Navy, he supported multiple exercises and participated in the Multinational Peacekeeping Force that provided humanitarian care subsequent to the Beirut Embassy bombing in 1983. After serving on active duty in the Navy, Chief Williams joined the Virginia Air National Guard in 1997 as a Telephone Systems Craftsman. Chief Williams has deployed in support of Operation NOBLE EAGLE, Richmond, Virginia and Operation GUARDED SKIES, Prince Sultan AB, Saudi Arabia. He also participated in the Virginia Air National Guard State Partnership Program in 2010 as part of a task force team that developed and taught leadership development training for the Tajikistan Military Warrant Officers and Non-Commissioner Officers. Chief Williams help facilitate the stand up Virginia Air National Guard Domestic Operations initiative within the state of Virginia. In his civilian career at the Virginia Information Technologies Agency, Chief Williams leverages his 30 years of telecommunications experience to provide Governance and Oversight of Networking and Services to the Commonwealth of Virginia agencies.
