CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT JAMES J. PROFITA

Chief Master Sergeant Jim Profita is the 192d Mission Support Group Superintendent, 192d Fighter Wing, Langley AFB, Virginia.  He is the principal advisor to the commander on matters of health, welfare and morale, professional development and the effective utilization of the more than 437 enlisted personnel assigned to the group. He is also the liaison to group staff and squadron superintendents overseeing mission support efforts for the 192nd Fighter Wing.

Chief Master Sergeant Profita enlisted in the Air Force in 1992 and arrived at Lackland AFB, Texas, in October 1992 for basic training. Upon graduation, he went to Keesler AFB, Mississippi and graduated from Information Management School in an abbreviated time frame and received his duty assignment to the USAF Mobility Center, Pope AFB, North Carolina. Chief Profita came to the Virginia Air National Guard in January of 1994, on the Palace Chase program and joined the 200th Weather Flight. He then attended training at Keesler, AFB, Mississippi, in April 1994. Chief Profita was mobilized in 2001 and was stationed at the 28th Operational Weather Squadron, Shaw, AFB. He returned to the 200th WF Station Chief position. Chief Profita was selected as the 192d Security Forces Squadron First Sergeant, in 2006; he became the 192d Mission Support Squadron First Sergeant in 2010 and was selected to be the 192d Fighter Wing First Sergeant in 2011. During his tenure in the Guard, Chief Profita has volunteered for many stateside and overseas deployments, such as Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and NOBLE EAGLE. Chief Profita has had several temporary assignments with the United States Joint Forces Command and the United States Africa Command. Chief Master Sergeant Profita has served in many different capacities over the last 19 years with the Chesterfield County Police Department. He currently holds the rank of Lieutenant and is a Unit Commander in the Special Investigations Division.
