"Because the Air National Guard has changed my life being able to get out and spread the word to give others an opportunity they might not have had motivates and encourages me to know what I do has meaning...it means something.

Originally, I joined as a senior in high school for the education benefits, but then it opened up doors for me that wouldn’t have opened otherwise. Not just the education benefits, but also allowing me to get a security clearance which put me in a position to get government jobs and now a position here as a full-time guardsman. And honestly, just meeting people who have mentored me and helped me to become a better person, a better woman, and a better Airman.

I not only help people get a job or open them up to free money for school, but I feel like what we do is so important because we’re part of a very small organization with a huge impact, not only in Virginia, but also the nation as a whole."
