Honoring our World War II Heritage
F-22A 4082 is pictured with temporary "Blue Nose" decoration carrying the legacy of the 192d into the 21st century. The nose art duplicates the P-51D flown by Major George Preddy's during WWII while he was commander of the 328th FS. Maj Preddy was the lead P-51 ace during the war. The 192d, which was derived from the 328th after the war, is proud of this heritage and decided to honor that tradition during the 2010 Maintenance Professional of the Year banquet held at Langley in March with the 1FW. The 1FW and 192FW are integrated through a classic association. (U.S. Air Force photo/Technical Sgt. James R. Orbin)
