192nd Force Support Squadron holds first change of command

Lt. Col. Alex J. Shamp, center, relinquishes command of the 192nd Wing, Virginia Air National Guard’s newly established 192nd Force Support Squadron during the squadron's first change of command ceremony June 7, 2025, at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, Virginia. Presided by Col. Manaal I. Burge, 192nd Mission Support Group commander, the event marked the end of Shamp’s tenure, where he led the unit during its previous designation as the 192nd Support Squadron since July 2022. Earlier that day, the 192nd MSG underwent significant restructuring, retiring the 192nd SS and forming the 192nd FSS and the 192nd Logistics Readiness Squadron, along with the 192nd Civil Engineering Flight and the 192nd Communications Flight.
