Members of the 192d deployed to Southwest Asia

Pictured here are members of the 192d FW who deployed with the 27th AMU on the first ever deployment of the F-22 to Southwest Asia. This was a historical event for the F-22 Raptor and the raptor maintenance community. Maintainers returned to Langley AFB on Dec. 16th, 2009. While deployed there, they were able to fly against coalition forces in simulated air-to-air combat. They were also able to perform aerial demonstrations for officials and locals of the area. Honoring our World War II Heritage

F-22A 4082 is pictured with temporary "Blue Nose" decoration carrying the legacy of the 192d into the 21st century. The nose art duplicates the P-51D flown by Major George Preddy's during WWII while he was commander of the 328th FS. Maj Preddy was the lead P-51 ace during the war. The 192d, which was derived from the 328th after the war, is proud of this heritage and decided to honor that tradition during the 2010 Maintenance Professional of the Year banquet held at Langley in March with the 1FW. The 192D Fighter Wing Force Support Flight

The 192D Fighter Wing, Force Support Flight met at a hangar during Unit Training Assembly and had their picture taken January 10. The flight includes the security forces squadron, mission support flight, and the logistics readiness squadron, actively integrating with the Combat Air Force Logistics Support Center, Langley Air Force Base, Virginia. These components of the support group are essential to the Air National Guard and Air Force mission.
